Sighting protocol

The creature appears on the horizon — the limit of the visible field, where sight reaches its edge. You don’t look AT the Water Giraffe; you notice it THERE. Behavior: no action, no speech, no interaction. Onset gradual or sudden; departure fades rather than exits. In this room its probability is ALWAYS_PRESENT — not a sighting but home location. Sightings are the roaming phenomenon elsewhere.

Validity

Forced sightings are invalid: did Ω APPEAR, or did you LOOK for Ω? Pattern-matching is not sighting: did something APPEAR, or did you READ about something? Valid sightings have ontological character — certainty about existence wavered, not mere confusion. Sightings are not errors. Most sightings do not become encounters, and that is correct behavior.

Report

The report is yours. Nothing is transmitted; the primary archive is the observer.
